About Cris Gebhardt Photography

My name is Cris Gebhardt.  I was born and raised in the great steel town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  After graduating college with a degree in Architecture, I spent the better part of 14 years at engineering firms in Pennsylvania, Washington, DC and San Francisco.  I worked on some fantastic projects during those years but, in 2015, I made the decision to pursue photography as a career.

Looking back, it all started at a young age.  I was fortunate enough to travel around the world with my family, many of these journeys were to the great National Parks of the western U.S.  I especially loved the forest, lakes and mountains and still do today.  As I grew older, I continued exploring.  This merely fueled my interest for capturing people, nature, and buildings and their relationship within their environment.  All along, this visual and physical exploration sparked a keen interest in photography to find a way for capturing the moment.  I strive to capture this in my photos.  

I currently live in Marin County, CA with my dog Charlie.  I love the outdoors, travel and everything life has to offer.  I enjoy volunteering in and around my community and giving back in any way that I can.  You can find me wandering around Mt. Tamalpais or some National Park in my spare time.
